Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a Utility Piping Specialist to install, repair, and maintain plumbing and related systems across ASU campuses. The role supports complex piping work, uses soldering/brazing, and reads blueprints, with duties on West Valley and other campus locations as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent training, with a strong emphasis on communication and safety, including PPE use.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years relevant experience
• Experience installing/repairing plumbing and utility piping systems
• Ability to read blueprints and follow specifications
• Experience with backflow testing/repair is a plus
• Good communication skills and safety awareness

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and utility piping systems
• Locate, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts with hand and power tools
• Inspect mechanical components; solder, braze, lay out, join, and repair metal piping
• Work from drawings and specifications to install water and drain lines
• Travel between ASU campuses as needed and maintain safety protocols
