Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Kinsman, OH is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson, preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL holder, to lead our on-site crew servicing the Kinsman region.

The role focuses on safe pruning and removal for major electric utilities, mentoring crew members, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring quality work. A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal services for utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees safely and skillfully.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines and structures.
• Apply industry pruning guidelines and tree identification knowledge.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees
