Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Foreman to lead a crew in utility line clearance operations in Richmond, VA. You will supervise tree trimming, line clearance, and related maintenance to support major electric utilities.

The role requires CDL with airbrake endorsement and proven climbing/trimming experience on utility lines; ISA certification preferred and pesticide licensing varies by state. On-site work with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• REQUIRED: Commercial driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.
• REQUIRED: Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience.
• Pesticide license, if required by state law.
• Herbicide license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops, trim or remove damaged trees, and remove broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects.
• Direct crew members and equipment; plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
• Supervise and assist in maintaining, preparing and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Operate as part of a crew with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber; perform all duties as required.
