The Prince George's County Planning Department of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission seeks two Planning Supervisors to lead either the Urban Design Studio or the Long-Range Planning team in Prince George’s County, MD. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with diverse communities, and guiding complex planning initiatives to advance equity and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or related field required.
• Six years of progressively responsible planning experience with supervisory or project leadership; equivalent of ten years total allowed.
• Valid driver’s license per area requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct plans to meet county goals; manage contracts for professional services.
• Lead urban design and planning studio projects with clear goals, timelines and deliverables.
• Guide urban design, land use and placemaking; review proposals and design guidelines; align with policies.
• Engage communities through workshops, charrettes and public presentations; incorporate feedback.
• Apply analytical skills to resolve complex planning challenges; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Direct operations; supervise staff; performance appraisals; recruit and train personnel.
