Job summary

The University of Connecticut’s Center for Access and Postsecondary Success (CAPS) seeks applicants to serve as the Upward Bound Program Director for the Windham High School program.

Based out of the UConn Storrs Campus, the Program Director will be responsible for the management and day-to-day administration of college preparation programming for first-generation and/or low-income high school students at Windham High School.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students who are first-generation to college and/or from underrepresented populations.
• Experience with budget and/or fiscal management.
• Experience with college access programming and/or postsecondary preparation for K-12 students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administers day-to-day program operations and ensure compliance with policies.
• Develop and implement college outreach to increase postsecondary enrollment and persistence.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff; assign tasks per objectives and evaluate performance.
• Monitor budgets; prepare reports and projections with fiscal staff.
• Ensure compliance with operational, fiscal, and grant requirements and prepare reports.
• Engage with school personnel and community organizations for program promotion and recruitment.
• Support parents/guardians in navigating college and financial aid processes.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with university stakeholders and community members.
• Complete annual program evaluation, collect data, analyze outcomes, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in grant development and fundraising efforts.
