Job summary

Cytiva in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an Upstream Manager to lead Fast Trak Process Development services. You will oversee upstream development, scale-up, tech transfer for biologics and related modalities, guiding cross-functional teams and ensuring robust documentation.

The role requires a PhD/MS with 10+ years in biologics, strong leadership, and ability to travel. A DBS-based approach and collaboration with diagnostics and pharma teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in biologics with 2+ years in leadership or management roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of upstream process development, scale-up, and technology transfer for biologics and related modalities.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership for cell culture bioreactor operations and process characterization.
• Support development of new service offerings and ensure robust documentation (SOPs, study plans, batch records, reports).
• Collaborate with downstream, analytics, applications, automation, R&D, and PMO teams to ensure project execution and KPI achievement.
