Job summary

Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission is seeking an experienced law enforcement trainer to serve as a Criminal Justice Trainer 4 and SME in Advanced UOF/CDT. You will lead and supervise UOF/CDT instructors, plan and deliver training, and ensure alignment with curriculum, policy, and safety standards.

The role involves coaching lower-level staff, evaluating student performance, and collaborating with partner agencies to enhance training quality and effectiveness across the state.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced use-of-force/defensive tactics expertise.
• Minimum five years as a certified law enforcement/corrections trainer or seven years with three-plus years as a lead trainer.
• Experience leading curriculum development and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as UOF/CDT SME and lead trainer for statewide trainings.
• Deliver and oversee training delivery for recruits and officers.
• Coordinate curriculum updates and ensure compliance with RCWs, WACs, and agency policy.
• Mentor and supervise lower-level instructors, ensuring safety and quality.
