Job summary

Beazley is seeking an Underwriting Manager for Miscellaneous Medical & Life Sciences within the Healthcare team. You will underwrite a profitable Miscellaneous Medical portfolio, provide counsel on underwriting issues, and lead a team of underwriters to uphold Beazley’s strong market reputation.

You will manage profitability, collaborate with claims, brokers and clients, and ensure adherence to underwriting policy across Beazley’s Lloyd’s and internal platforms.

Qualifications

• Proficient underwriting skills and strong numerical ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills with analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee underwriting of a profitable Miscellaneous Medical portfolio for the South Region.
• Structure tailor-made solutions while guiding the team to win new business and retain clients.
• Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios to ensure long-term profitability and cost-effective administration.
• Lead and mentor underwriters to ensure policy compliance and performance.
• Advise clients and brokers to maintain strong relationships and cross-sell Beazley products.
