Job summary

Race Telecommunications, Inc. seeks an Underground Laborer to support construction, maintenance and operation of telecom infrastructure. You will perform hands-on excavation, cable installation and equipment operation with a focus on safety and efficiency across multiple CA sites.

You will collaborate with Foreman and Supervisors, train team members, and ensure high-quality execution of projects while flexibly traveling up to 50% to meet schedules and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent education preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license, subject to DMV verification.
• Travel to multiple work sites; overtime, weekends, holidays as needed.
• 5+ years of sales experience; 1–2 years in training/coaching.
• Experience in inside and outside sales; coaching skills.
• Strong public speaking, presentation and facilitation ability.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and data dashboards; English fluency; Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads underground tech teams in installation, maintenance and repair.
• Assigns tasks, manages schedules, ensures resources are allocated.
• Collaborates with project managers and engineers to execute plans.
• Coordinates with locators to prevent conflicts and disruptions.
• Allocates equipment, materials, and labor for productivity.
• Ensures work meets high-quality standards per specs.
• Addresses challenges; makes decisions to minimize disruption.
• Maintains records: progress, materials used, incidents, changes.
• Interacts with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction.
• Trains and mentors teammates on safety and technique.
• Oversees equipment maintenance and site safety; operates bucket truck, excavators, trencher.
