Job summary

Telecon is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Foreman to lead a fiber installation crew on MDU projects across the Puget Sound region, with sites in Issaquah and Federal Way, WA. You will read plans, stage personnel and equipment, and make field decisions when conditions differ from plans.

Expect 8–10 hour days, five days a week outdoors with real ownership over crew performance and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years as foreman or crew lead in underground utility, civil, or fiber construction, incl. trench crews and fiber placement.
• Knowledge of underground conduit systems, handholes, vaults, duct systems, and fiber pathways.
• Ability to read construction plans, maps, and work orders; plan daily work and lead crews.
• Experience operating proofing, locating, and construction equipment such as excavators and skid steers.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; outdoor work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a field crew, assign daily tasks and production goals.
• Review work orders and plans to ensure safe, efficient conduit and fiber placement.
• Conduct pre-task planning, JSAs/JHAs, and safety inspections; document findings.
• Interpret drawings and determine installation methods, equipment, and tooling.
• Operate or supervise use of proofing/locating equipment and fiber rodding.
