Job summary

The Nurturing Nook in Glendale, WI is seeking a full-time Lead Teacher for our Two-Year-old classroom. You will develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, partner with families, and help create a safe, nurturing environment for early learning.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, can pass background checks, and meet the Wisconsin Registry Level 5+ requirement. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 7:30am–12:30pm and 1:30pm–5:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Lead teachers must be Level 5 or higher on the WI registry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans weekly across all areas of child development and communicate using the parent app.
• Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of each child and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct parent/teacher conferences in Nov and May.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Carry out daily classroom responsibilities related to child care.

Job description

The Nurturing Nook in Glendale is a licensed childcare center seeking full-time Lead Teacher(s) to support our Two-Year old classroom.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED, and the ability to pass all background checks. Lead teachers MUST be a Level 5 or higher on the WI registry.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 12:30pm; 1:30pm - 5:30pm

Compensation: $17/hour, based on education and experience

Location: 4425 N. Port Washington Rd, Glendale, Wisconsin.

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
