Qualifications

  • Turfgrass management training completed.

  • Maintains equipment and facility R&M; supports clean up.
  • Assists in tissue sample data entry and analysis.
  • Supports the Senior Director, Agronomy, and Assistants Superintendent.
  • Seeks ways to reduce liabilities and improve service quality.
  • Performs other duties as required by management.

Job description

Supports management staff in assisting the golf course crew with daily operations. Serves as the primary pesticide applicator and provides leadership in fertilizer applications. Focuses on maintaining the big picture and takes necessary actions to balance risk and reward, ensuring successful outcomes.Job ResponsibilitiesSupports management staff with pesticide and fertilizer applications.Aids in bent watch programs and water management theories.Supports daily maintenance operations by assisting, training, and coaching crew members on job responsibilities and proper work procedures.Focus on course scout program and relays information to management staff.Exercises sound judgment by balancing operational risks with course quality and maintenance objectives.Supports facility R & M and equipment clean up.Helps with tissue sample analysis data entry.Supports the Senior Director, Agronomy, and Assistants Superintendent in maintaining a healthy, well-groomed, enjoyable, and playable golf course for Members.Maintain proficient knowledge of required technical specialties.Seek methods to reduce organizational liabilities and improve the quality of maintenance services being provided.Ensures effective running of processes, programs, and projects.Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an important part of the job.Physical demands are outlined immediately below.Physical DemandsAcceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.Constantly required to use arms, hands, and fingers to handle or lift items up to 50 pounds.Constantly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms and/or drive a golf cart.Use vision to perform activity such as but not limited to preparing and analyzing data and figures, visual inspection involving property maintenance, hazards, and safety violations, and/or operation of machines (including inspection).Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications: Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:Turfgrass management training and educationIrrigation construction repair and maintenance knowledge desired+Relative Experience/Education:Two to four years relevant working experience on a golf courseHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum two-year certificate from an accredited Turfgrass Management program or related field; Bachelor’s Degree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferredRequired License(s):Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training programProjected Work Schedule:Normal work hours are 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
