Job summary

Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners in Jerseyville, IL 62052 is seeking an experienced service technician to perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment. You will work independently and also mentor trainees, while ensuring accurate documentation and timely submittal of work orders.

The role requires up to 50% travel, a 2-year degree, and valid driver's license with CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience performing service repairs and diagnostics on heavy equipment.
• Team-based work experience and effective communication.
• Ability to document diagnostics and repairs clearly and accurately.
• Experience using service tools and equipment per manual procedures.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment.
• Follow directions from Service Manager or Foreman as needed.
• Diagnose and repair John Deere equipment and technology.
• Mentor trainees and junior technicians.
• Support customer clinics and field service as required.
• Manage billable time and complete work orders on schedule.
• Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly for submission.
• Participate in training programs to improve skills.
• Operate and maintain necessary vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and uphold safety rules.
• Keep knowledge of John Deere and competitors up to date.
