A leading construction firm is seeking a Tunneling Superintendent to oversee a large-diameter water pipeline project. This role requires over 10 years of tunneling or underground construction experience. Responsibilities include field oversight of tunneling work, monitoring compliance with safety regulations, and documenting activities. The anticipated salary range is $120,000 - $160,000 yearly, and the position offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of tunneling or underground construction experience (TBM or conventional).
• Strong understanding of tunnel safety, ground behavior, instrumentation, and QA/QC practices.
• Ability to read plans, specs, shop drawings, and geotechnical reports.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under the weather.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field oversight of tunneling work including excavation, ground support, and TBM operations.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety plans and OSHA requirements.
• Track daily progress, TBM performance, and schedule impacts.
• Document activities through daily reports and issue tracking.
• Participate in coordination meetings and communicate field issues.
