Job summary

The City of Ventura is seeking a Tree Maintenance Leadworker to manage tree crew activities in the Parks, Recreation and Community Partnerships Department. This role requires strong leadership and journey-level skills in tree maintenance.

Responsibilities include directing daily tree maintenance crew tasks, training staff, ensuring safety practices, and interacting with the public professionally. Candidates should possess a valid CA driver's license and obtain Arborist certification within a year.

This position offers a salary range from $48,620.42 to $59,098.21 per year and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid California Class C driver’s license required.
• Arborist certification to be obtained within one year of appointment.
• Experience in supervisory roles is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of tree crews involved in trimming and maintenance.
• Train crews in tree care methods and use of equipment.
• Monitor tree maintenance operations with the Parks Supervisor.
• Coordinate activity with other Leadworkers and City staff.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of tree care.
