Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Lead Treating Engineer in Arlington, WA to guide treating plant operations. You will mentor the treating engineers and pad operators, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities span coordinating with Supervisors, operating boiler and process systems, managing chemical treatments, records, inventory, and safety programs. This role offers a path for leadership within a large North American infrastructure materials company.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and provide leadership/direction to treating plant staff and pad operators.
• Communicate operational information with Supervisors and other departments related to scheduling treatment, quality control and maintenance.
• Operate and control major systems (Boiler and pressure vessels, vacuum and condensate recovery, preservative mix, transfer and storage, hazardous and solid waste processing and storage, charge transfer tables, emergency response equipment).
• Change treatment charges; identify and inspect materials for conformance; inspect binders and cables; move and store charges.
• Record and document systems activity to ensure accurate processing of materials per policy and SOPs.
• Assist in preservative inventory management including sampling, receiving, mixing and usage control.
• Sample, test, and treat water systems; document chemical usage and supplies inventory.
• Clean systems; handle process; store and document hazardous waste management.
• Participate in and contribute to the company safety program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
