Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks a Principal Planner for Transportation Technology and Operations. You will identify and facilitate the integration of transportation technology into NJTPA’s planning initiatives and capital investments, guiding implementation aligned with regional goals and performance measures.

In this role you will conduct research, manage planning studies, and contribute to initiatives spanning ITS, connected and autonomous vehicle tech, and data-driven policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, public policy, or related field and 3 years of applied experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer background including familiarity with database management and analytical tools.
• Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and manage studies on transportation technology integration into planning and policy.
• Assist partners in applying transportation technology to improve mobility and accessibility while addressing equity and sustainability.
• Educate and provide professional development on transportation technology topics for the region's planning community.
