Job summary

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Transportation Department seeks a Principal Transportation Planner to lead regional safety initiatives and coordinate data-driven programs. You will oversee analysis of crash data, CVE training, and safety projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth region, contributing to strategic roadway safety improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods is required.
  • At least five years of relevant transportation safety planning experience.
  • Experience analyzing crash data and preparing safety-focused reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support collection and analysis of regional safety data (crash, fatality, CVE efforts).
  • Manage CVE Equipment and Training Program and CVE Working Group activities.
  • Coordinate safety initiative projects (Wrong Way Driving, Intersection Safety).
  • Develop, track, and report safety targets with partners and staff.
  • Lead implementation of the CRASH predictive crash analysis tool.
