Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Sciences and Planning Lead to join the Transportation Business Group in North Carolina. You will provide leadership for staff development, quality technical delivery, and coordinated environmental planning services across projects and clients.

The role requires a strong background in NEPA/SEPA, program development, client management and cross‑disciplinary leadership within a multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience; professional registration may be required.
• Strong communication and listening skills; leadership ability.
• Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, budgets and schedules.
• NEPA experience including EIS/EA/CE and regulatory permitting experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct planning and environmental projects.
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams and staff development.
• Engage with clients for marketing, project production, and relationships.
• Coordinate with HDR leadership on resource allocation and quality control.
• Prepare studies, NEPA documents, permit applications and related reports.
