Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation is seeking a Materials Coordinator in the Southeast District. You will lead inspection teams on highway construction projects, document complex items, and mentor junior inspectors.

Responsibilities include field verification, coordinating with contractors and ADOT staff, and ensuring adherence to federal and state standards. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Four years experience or two years journey level experience in inspection of highway construction, hot mix and concrete plants.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related curriculum may be substituted for the experience.
• Candidate has direct exposure to inspection, documentation, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway construction activities and contract items for compliance with specs and laws.
• Prepare field documentation and verify calculations for PEN and FAST systems.
• Review technical problems and develop procedures to resolve issues related to assignments.
• Provide direction and mentoring to lower level inspectors and coordinate staff
