Job summary

Southwest Power Pool is seeking a Senior Transmission Design Analyst to shape and analyze transmission market design. You will evaluate existing market structures, propose modifications, and support stakeholder committees with in-depth market analysis.

Collaboration spans Operations, Legal, Regulatory, and Engineering teams to align policies and processes. The role requires strong facilitation, data analysis, and experience with market formulations across RTO/ISO environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, business, or related field.
5+ years of job-related experience.
Experience with RTO/ISO market formulations and optimization techniques is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze current transmission market design, identifying market weaknesses and evaluating impacts of proposed modifications.
Design complex solutions to new or changing transmission products, including settlement calculations and functional documentation.
Provide support and technical expertise to Working Groups and committees, such as the Transmission Working Group and Market Working Group.
Collaborate internally across departments to maintain alignment with transmission market design principles.
Recommend transmission market design changes and support initiatives through the SPP stakeholder process.
Train and mentor Transmission Design Analysts and maintain simulation platforms.
