Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Lead Engineer - Transmission Line to oversee design of high voltage infrastructure and support EPC proposals. You will lead a design team, ensure safety, quality, and cost efficiency, and coordinate with clients and regulators.

The role requires a strong background in civil/structural or electrical engineering with 10+ years in the electric utility sector, and travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation or transmission line projects.
• Strong technical expertise across structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
• Familiarity with industry software packages.
• Experience supporting external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion: planning, design, permitting, construction support, closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations or transmission lines.
• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards (environmental and safety).
• Coordinate with stakeholders (government agencies, contractors, public) for successful delivery.
• Oversee quality control procedures to uphold workmanship and material standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports and engineering documentation.
• Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Other duties as assigned
