Job summary

Urban seeks Geotechnical/Facilities Inspectors to support construction management on new facility projects in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. This client-facing role provides daily field oversight to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specs, and transit facility standards.

Requirements include 10–15 years of inspection experience, PennDOT/transit client exposure, NICET Level III/IV or engineering degree, PA license, OSHA 30, and proficiency with field documentation platforms and

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of construction inspection experience.
• Prior PennDOT and/or transit agency inspection experience is highly preferred.
• NICET Level III or IV in Highway/Transportation Construction, engineering degree, or equivalent.
• Valid PA driver's license.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Proficient with field documentation platforms (e.g., ECMS, PPCC, CDS NextGen, KAHUA, Procore).
• Experience with bus/rail facility construction and utility coordination for large facility upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily inspection of construction activities: sitework, foundations, structural steel, building envelope, MEP, and transit systems.
• Interpret contract documents and issue field clarifications; resolve constructability issues with design engineer.
• Oversee QA/QC materials testing and coordinate independent labs.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, photos, and diaries per standards.
• Review contractor pay applications against quantities installed.
• Serve as primary contact between contractor, transit agency client, and PennDOT staff.
• Support commissioning/startup of specialty systems and close-out documentation.
