Overview
The Lead Trailer Mechanic in City of Industry, CA, will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, or heavy-duty trailers to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. The role also involves managing employees and garage operations, including onsite repairs at the Lathrop location.
$33.00 hr - $36.00 hr DOE
Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
What the Lead Diesel / Trailer Mechanic Technician role involves:
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty Class 7-8 trailers, dollies, and switchers
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies
- Access all areas of equipment for maintenance
- Coordinate with the fleet manager to complete shift work
- Supervise 2 or more employees while working
- Update and close work orders; collaborate with drivers
- Maintain, order, and update parts inventory
- Prepare vehicle records manually and electronically
- Conduct safety inspections and document findings
- Inspect and work on the undercarriage of vehicles
- Transport parts to and from the job site and install/remove parts on vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ideal candidate profile:
- Minimum 1 year of experience ordering parts, vending repairs, and maintaining service trucks
- 3+ years of experience as a Lead Diesel/Trailer Mechanic or a diploma in auto/diesel technology from an accredited school
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- ASE certifications preferred
- Commercial Driver’s License class A or B
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Own tools and toolbox required
- Knowledge of diagnostic scan tools and schematics
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
