Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer – Supervising Traffic Engineer for the Bay Area or Sacramento, with a focus on leading traffic studies in California. This full-time role requires PE/TE/PTOE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months, and a BA/BS in Civil Engineering with extensive traffic experience.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, develop design and PS&E packages, interface with clients and agencies, and manage budgets and schedules for West Coast projects.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• PE/TE/PTOE license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Strong background in transportation planning, modeling and engineering
• Experience leading technical studies and mentoring junior staff
• Proficiency with traffic simulation software (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM)

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic studies for California projects and support West Coast initiatives
• Provide input to studies, design, and PS&E packages
• Develop budgets, schedules and cost estimates for projects
• Mentor entry-level engineers and technicians
