Job summary

First Presbyterian Church Grand Junction seeks a Director of Traditional Music and Worship Arts to lead the traditional music ministry, coordinating with volunteers, ensembles, and staff to plan and lead worship across seasonal and special services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in music with a Sacred/Church focus (Graduate degree preferred), and 4–8 years of conductorial experience, with strong organ or piano skills.

Qualifications

• Leadership and collaboration with staff and volunteers.
• Proficiency in organ or piano for accompanying worship.
• Experience conducting choral, orchestral, and handbell ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee traditional musical activities while supporting Contemporary worship.
• Schedule and oversee music for traditional Sunday worship and seasonal services.
• Direct rehearsals and leadership for all traditional ensembles.
• Coordinate with staff for worship planning and related activities.
• Participate in twice-monthly staff meetings and Worship Team planning.
