Job summary

Presbytery of the James in Virginia seeks a part-time Traditional Music Director for one Sunday morning worship service at 11:00 a.m., with occasional choir and special music throughout the church year. • Familiarity with traditional sacred music and hymnody.
• Ability to lead congregational singing and worship music.

Responsibilities

• Select music in consultation with the Pastor.
• Coordinate occasional choir and instrumental music; recruit volunteers or paid singers.
• Schedule and lead rehearsals; arrange substitute musicians as needed.
• Collaborate with Contemporary Music Director and church committees on special services.
• Oversee instruments, music library, and equipment; manage the music budget.
