Job summary

Paramount is seeking an Associate Art Director of Toys who will lead the toy design team, directing 2D and 3D concepts from concept to production while safeguarding the brands' vision.

You will collaborate with design, marketing, licensing, and management, leveraging industry knowledge, strong sketching, and factory know-how to create innovative, licensed products for a global audience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years progressive responsibility creating toy products for entertainment or educational properties.
• Proficient knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and other software aiding collaboration with licensing partners.
• Robust ideation sketching skills.
• Extraordinary creativity and feel for toy design and development.
• A kid at heart sensibility.
• Great eye for 3D design and style with emphasis on fabrication and fit.
• Knowledge of common manufacturing processes for toys.
• Ability to envision toy lines for new brands.
• Capable of translating characters from 2D animation to 3D products.
• Experience with licensed entertainment products.
• Solid written, oral and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct a toy design team and lead the product approval process with toy partners.
• Provide creative direction to licensees to develop innovative toys aligned with Paramount brands.
• Collaborate with design, marketing and licensing partners to deliver on brand objectives.
• Work with internal lines of business to fulfill business needs and expand properties.
• Mentor designers and explore new design styles to extend brand lifecycles.
• Stay current on design trends and manufacturing technologies.
