Job summary

Betacom Inc. is seeking a Field Tower Technician to lead and assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and related equipment in Kansas City, MO.

You will work irregular hours, travel as needed, and operate at heights while ensuring safety and quality on every project. The role requires 3–4 years in the industry, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 to 4 years of industry experience.
• Excellent communication skills, reading and writing skills (English).
• Good computer skills. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to accommodate out of town travel, if required.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro‑mechanical equipment.
• ComTrain, OSHA10, RFA Awareness Training, First Aid/CPR trained.
• Must have experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping and antenna equipment.
• Must have experience stacking self‑support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
• RFA awareness, replacement, and maintenance i.e., coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors, and weather proving.
• Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Tower Foreman.

Responsibilities

• Climbs and works on communication towers for installing, replacing, and repairing antenna system equipment.
• The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Safety Management – ensures crew compliance with safety requirements.
• Completes required daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s). Executes and manages as needed.
• Lead 4‑mantower crews safely and within budgetary requirements.
• Troubleshoots tower lighting systems and RF testing where needed.
