Job summary

JL Wesley is seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead underground utility crews on commercial site development projects in Indiana. You will oversee the installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water systems while ensuring safety, on-schedule completion, and grade accuracy.

The role requires leadership of crews, coordination with project managers, and delivering high-quality field production on active sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in pipe laying and underground utility operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing crews.
• Strong knowledge of storm, sanitary, and water systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes.
• Experience working around heavy equipment on active job sites.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise pipe crews in installation of storm, sanitary, and water systems.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
• Ensure pipe is installed to proper line and grade using lasers and levels.
• Coordinate daily work activities with operators and laborers.
• Plan trenching, bedding, and backfill operations.
• Install structures including manholes, catch basins, and hydrants.
• Monitor production rates and job progress.
• Communicate with project managers and site superintendents.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
• Train and mentor crew members.
