Job summary

Integer Holdings is seeking a Toolmaker with 8–10 years of related experience for our Minnesota facility. The role requires strong leadership, mastery of tool room equipment, and the ability to read blueprints and CAD specifications.

A journeyman certification may be required, with basic TIG welding a plus. Responsibilities include operating CNC mills/EDMs, troubleshooting tooling, and leading projects while mentoring technicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School graduate; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• 8-10 years related experience; journeyman certification may be required.
• Strong leadership and mechanical aptitude with ability to operate tool room equipment.
• Basic TIG or tool room welding is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety, quality and regulatory requirements including FDA regulations and QMS.
• Study specifications from CAD models, blueprints, or tool descriptions and plan sequences.
• Operate tool room equipment: CNC mills/EDMs, surface grinders, lathes, drill presses, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling; plan and manufacture dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Provide leadership by coordinating activities of other Toolmakers; mentor technicians.
• Lead process improvements and contribute to quality KPI achievement.
• Support cross-training and on-the-job training for skill growth.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Adheres to Integer's Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
• Studies specifications from CAD models, blueprints, sketches or tool descriptions and plans sequence of
• operation to construct.
• Operates tool room equipment at a high level of competency which may include, but is also not limited to:
• CNC mill, CNC Electrical Discharge Machines (EDMs), manual and/or wire EDMs, surface grinders, manual
• mills, manual lathes, drill presses, and array of hand tools.
• Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of stages of tooling.
• Plans, constructs, and repairs a variety of tool, dies, jigs, gauges and fixtures to close tolerances.
• Demonstrates high-level expertise and experience with equipment.
• Stays abreast of new and developing technology required for position in order to account for any possible
• changes.
• Participates in problem solving and provides input for process/product evaluations for continuous improvement.

• Makes recommendations to existing work instructions to improve quality, clarity, and/or efficiency.

• Reports equipment issues to appropriate resources for resolution.
• Orders supplies and materials.
• May verify attendance within the timekeeping system in Supervisor's absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Coordinates the activities of other Toolmakers.
• Reports progress and metrics to management.
• Leads projects and mentor other technicians.

• Expands skill base through on-the-job training, cross training, and classroom instruction.

• Trains personnel in proper techniques to utilize systems, equipment, and processes.
• Provides support/guidance, data, and analysis to other departments.
• Supports performance reviews and talent calibration processes.

• Continually seeks to drive improvements in product and process quality and identifies and escalates quality non-conformances to assist in achieving company quality objectives and key business metrics.

Education & Experience

• Minimum Education:
  • High School graduate or equivalent education may be required, associate degree or bachelor's degree in area of technical expertise preferred.
• Minimum Experience:
  • 8-10 years of related experience. Journeymen certification/paperwork also may be required.

Knowledge and skills

• Special Skills: Strong leadership and mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply it in operating tool room equipment. Demonstrated competency at the master level as defined by the National Institute of Metalworking Skills(NIMS). Basic TIG or Tool room welding are a plus.

Pay Range: $35.30 - $51.77
