Job summary

JCC Chicago in Northbrook, IL seeks a Lead Teacher for toddlers at the Bernard Weinger location. Start ASAP, full-time, on-site schedule 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM, weekdays. The role focuses on safety, developmentally appropriate curricula, and strong family communication within a team of educators and social services staff.

The program operates under DCFS and Illinois standards in a Reggio-inspired setting, emphasizing emotional and cognitive growth and the vibrant Jewish life welcomed at home.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Special Education.
• CDA or 30 hours college plus 6 semester hours of ECE and 1,560 clock hours of child development experience.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the safety and welfare of the children, supervising all children by sight and sound.
• Lead your teaching team in implementing a program that includes elements of the JCC Chicago’s integrated secular and Jewish curriculum.
• Provide and maintain an atmosphere conducive to emotional and cognitive growth.
• Establish and maintain good communication and a strong sense of community with directors, staff, and parents.
• Foster a collaborative, team-focused atmosphere in the classroom and at the site.
