Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 1–2 years of toddler care experience in childcare/preschool.
• Knowledge of DCFS licensing and early childhood best practices.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, patience, and classroom management.
• Background check required by Illinois state regulations.
• Warm, energetic, child-centered approach to teaching and caregiving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily lesson plans for toddlers.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes early childhood development.
• Supervise and engage toddlers in structured and free-play activities.
• Monitor and document each child’s developmental milestones and progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child’s growth and daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with licensing regulations.
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides.
