Job summary

Denise Louie Education Center is seeking an Infant/Toddler Early Head Start teacher to support young children’s development and readiness for school in a diverse urban setting. You will create a safe classroom, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and partner with families to foster child growth and family engagement.

The position requires an Infant/Toddler CDA or an Associate degree, with a Bachelor’s in ECE preferred.

Qualifications

• Infant/Toddler CDA or Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s in ECE preferred.
• English communication skills required, both spoken and written.
• Bilingual in a language spoken by DLEC parents preferred (Spanish, Amharic, Cantonese, Vietnamese).

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities to promote learning.
• Partner with parents through regular communication and support.
• Maintain health, safety and cleanliness in the classroom.
• Collaborate with staff to develop curriculum aligned with Head Start.
