We are now hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher for our beautiful Guidepost Montessori school at Lincoln Park!

Get the opportunity to nurture Toddlers with an environment designed for their growth, exploration, and independence!

Your Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Lead Guide (Teacher) to support a mixed-age class of toddler age children in a Montessori environment.

In a Montessori community, guides (teachers) carefully prepare an environment that fosters independence and captivates a child’s interest. Guides provide personalized support to each child, working with children individually and in small groups, demonstrating how to use the materials and perform activities, and providing precise language to help them understand their experiences.

Children in a Montessori class have the liberty to explore the environment and work on materials of their choice for as long as they want. The support and materials help each child develop skills, confidence, and a belief in their capabilities.

We’re seeking a Lead Guide who will bring their best to support every child's potential!

Guidepost Toddler Lead Guides:
  • Observe each child closely to understand and meet their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs
  • Prepare a beautiful, orderly environment that fosters trust, exploration, deep learning, and independence
  • Cultivate independence and self-confidence by encouraging children to do things themselves
  • Provide lessons to develop practical life skills, language, and grace and courtesy
  • Form personal connections with each child and cultivate a respectful community
  • Communicate and collaborate respectfully with parents to provide optimal care
The Montessori Prepared Environment

Every classroom at Guidepost is equipped with high-quality Montessori materials for the infant/toddler curriculum and a budget for guides to personalize their space. Classrooms are designed according to Montessori principles of beauty and order, enabling children to explore, learn, and achieve independence confidently.

Features of a Guidepost Montessori toddler space:
  • Abundant open space for movement and exploration
  • Child-sized furniture and objects to facilitate independence
  • Curriculum supporting independence in dressing, feeding, toilet learning, etc.
  • Scientifically designed learning materials to develop motor skills and more
  • Cozy rugs, real plants, and natural light
  • Objects made from natural materials like wood, metal, and glass
  • Objects to climb, crawl over, and explore instead of baby-holding devices

If you're passionate about empowering children, eager to partner with parents, and want to join a collaborative community, we would love to hear from you!

Ideal Candidate:
  • Interested in pursuing certified Montessori training through our Fully-Sponsored Prepared Montessorian Institute or have a Montessori diploma
  • Experience working with children aged 0-3 in settings like daycare or nursery
  • Familiar with child-led philosophies such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or open to learning
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development credits
  • Bachelor’s Degree (any subject)
What We Offer:
  • Opportunity to contribute to a high-quality Montessori program tailored to each child's needs
  • Sponsored Montessori diploma and ongoing professional development
  • 75% tuition discount for two children across our network
  • Supportive peer and mentor network
  • Career growth and promotion opportunities
  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
