Position: Lead Teacher at The Goddard School in Avon

As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for children, working with an Assistant Teacher and collaborating with the entire faculty.

We seek experienced, honest, and reliable candidates who are passionate about working with children and are eager to grow professionally in a top childcare center. If you meet the qualifications listed below, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications:

• Support the education program using a "learning through play" philosophy
• Interact closely with children at their level
• Maintain supervision of children at all times
• Assist with diapering and toileting as needed
• Follow employment policies of the franchisee
• Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents
• Handle crisis situations and assist during emergencies
• Comply with all childcare laws and regulations

Educational Requirements:

• Current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential (or willingness to obtain one, paid for by The Goddard School)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development
• Related degree with 18 semester hours related to young children
• Associate degree or higher in relevant fields
• Active enrollment in CDA or degree programs

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment
• Design and manage classroom activities and arrangements
• Ensure equipment is in good repair
• Implement emergency procedures
• Promote healthy eating
• Maintain proper child-to-staff ratios
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Post schedules and adhere to health and safety policies
• Support children’s physical, emotional, and social development
• Encourage creativity and exploration
• Foster positive family relationships and communication
• Document child progress and maintain portfolios
• Participate in team meetings and professional development

Compensation: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
