Job summary

Guidepost Montessori in Naperville is seeking a Lead Toddler Guide to lead a mixed-age toddler classroom in a Montessori environment thoughtfully designed to support children during one of the most formative stages of development.

You will observe, guide language, self-regulation, and independence, and build strong partnerships with families while collaborating with staff to maintain a calm, joyful learning space that honors each child’s pace and interests.

Qualifications

• Experience with children ages 0–3 in group care or early learning settings.
• Interest in pursuing Montessori certification through Prepared Montessorian Institute or equivalent.
• Alignment with child-led education approaches (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar).
• ECE or Child Development credits and a bachelor's degree in a child-related field.

Responsibilities

• Observe each child to support physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Prepare and maintain an orderly classroom promoting focus and exploration.
• Encourage independence by guiding children to do things themselves.
• Provide lessons in practical life skills and language development.
• Build warm relationships with children and families; communicate with parents.
• Lead routines and collaborate to create a respectful, joyful community.
