Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Lead Toddler Guide to lead a 2-3 toddler classroom in a Montessori environment designed for exploration and independence.

You will support language, coordination, self-regulation, and confidence through observation, individualized lessons, and respectful guidance. This role emphasizes fostering independence and purposeful, joyful learning with families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 0–3 in a group care or early learning setting.
• Fully sponsored Montessori certification through Prepared Montessorian Institute, or Montessori diploma.
• Alignment with child-led educational approaches (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar).
• ECE or Child Development credits required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field.

Responsibilities

• Observe each child to understand and support development.
• Prepare and maintain an orderly classroom that fosters focus, independence, and exploration.
• Encourage toddlers to do things themselves to support independence.
• Provide lessons in practical life skills, language development, and grace and courtesy.
• Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents to support each child’s growth.
• Lead classroom routines and collaborate with team to create a respectful, joyful community.
