ENVE Composites in Ogden, Utah, seeks a Design Engineer – Bicycle Tires to lead tire development from concept through production. You’ll own tread design, compounds, casing, and testing protocols, coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance tires for road, gravel, and mountain biking.

The role emphasizes deep engineering judgment, hands-on testing, and collaboration with a passionate cycling community to push performance benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish tire development pipeline and lifecycle strategy across road, gravel, and mountain bike categories.
• Develop tread patterns and select rubber compounds to meet performance targets.
• Engineer casing constructions including ply materials, reinforcements, and bead designs.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Develop prototype build plans and testing protocols (lab, track, field).
• Analyze test data and translate results into design improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers on materials, tooling, and manufacturing readiness.
• Support product launches with quality standards and documentation.
• Stay updated on tire technology and rider needs.
