Job summary

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute seeks an experienced thoracic surgeon to direct the Lung Cancer Program. The role focuses on leading program growth, utilizing advanced surgical technologies, and improving outcomes for patients with lung and thoracic cancers.

The candidate will drive multidisciplinary collaboration with NHCI teams and participate in national leadership initiatives, clinical trials, and quality/safety improvements to advance patient-centered cancer care.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited college or university.
• BC/BE in Thoracic Surgery.
• Active GA medical license.
• Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and grow the Lung Cancer Program.
• Lead strategies to deliver excellent cancer care and optimal outcomes.
• Lead thoracic cancer research projects and participate in multidisciplinary clinical activities.
• Collaborate with NHCI physicians, clinicians and administrators to promote patient-centered care and innovation.

Skills

Board-certified thoracic surgeon

Fellowship trained in cardiothoracic/

Minimally invasive thoracic surgery

5-8 years clinical experience

Leadership in academic medical center

Cancer research and clinical trials

Education
