Job summary

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in Georgia seeks an experienced thoracic surgeon to direct the Lung Cancer Program. The role focuses on program growth, leadership, and applying advanced technologies to improve patient outcomes.

The candidate will lead research projects in thoracic cancers and participate in NHCI's multidisciplinary clinical activities, collaborating with physicians, clinicians and administrators to deliver patient-centered, high-quality cancer care regionally and nationally.

Qualifications

• Board-certified thoracic surgeon.
• Fellowship trained in cardiothoracic surgery or thoracic surgical oncology.
• Minimally invasive thoracic surgery proficiency.
• 5-8 years clinical experience preferred.
• Proven leadership in an academic medical center or community hospital.
• Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Lung Cancer Program and drive program growth.
• Lead research projects in thoracic cancers.
• Collaborate with NHCI physicians, clinicians and administrators to promote patient-centered care.
• Promote multidisciplinary approach to cancer care at local, regional and national levels.

Education

Medical degree from an accredited college or university

BC/BE in Thoracic Surgery

Active GA medical license
