Job summary

Disney Cruise Line is seeking an Engine Watch Officer to join our United States operations. You will take over and accept engine watches, assist with maintaining the machinery space and log books, and support safe operation and maintenance of all systems aboard a cruise vessel.

The role requires an unlimited Engine Watch qualification, at least 1 year as Junior Engine Officer on cruise ships, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch unlimited license or higher.
• 1+ years’ experience as Junior Engine Officer preferably on cruise vessels.
• Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
• Flexibility and a cool head in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Take over and accept a watch.
• Maintain the machinery space and log book.
• Assist in safe and correct operation and maintenance of machinery systems.
• Observe precautions to prevent environmental pollution.
• Provide professional and social guidance to subordinates by exemplary personal behavior.
• Maintain good teamwork with Engine Room personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Second Engineer of the watch.
• Uphold general safety management responsibilities in areas and operations under their control.
