Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials is seeking a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist for Thermal Management in Sunnyvale to drive development from concept through commercialization. You will lead projects across characterization, modeling, and validation, translating customer needs into differentiated materials solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, own DOE programs, and guide products to scalable production while shaping roadmaps for high-performance packaging

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and commercializing new products from concept through launch.
• Experience in thermal management materials, semiconductor packaging, electronics materials, or related tech.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, material selection, thermal characterization, and testing.
• Experience engaging with customers and translating needs into product development.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and commercialization of advanced thermal management materials from concept to launch.
• Partner with customers to understand technical challenges and identify new product opportunities.
• Design material characterization, thermal testing, and performance evaluation programs.
• Generate data via simulation, modeling, and experiments for chip- and package-level heat management.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and services to scale technologies.
• Establish material specifications and qualification requirements for manufacturing readiness.
• Drive failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and reliability assessments.
• Apply DOE and engineering methods to optimize performance and process capability.
• Engage with external suppliers and partners to align technology roadmaps.
