Job summary

Newport Healthcare seeks a Primary Therapist to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate therapy sessions. You will collaborate with treatment teams and connect directly with families.

Responsibilities include leading family orientations and support groups, conducting intake assessments, and participating in team meetings. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in psychology or related field and is board registered or in process, with experience working with young adults

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field is required.
• Board registered (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or in state-licensed pathway is required.
• Experience facilitating therapy with young adults and/or adolescents is preferred.
• A patient-first mindset that meets high standards in care delivery.
• Cultural sensitivity and strong interpersonal skills for families and colleagues.
• A proactive problem-solver who uses available information to craft solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans and safety plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions within model frameworks.
• Collaborate with treatment teams and connect with families directly.
• Lead family orientations, welcome sessions, and family support groups.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions.
