Job summary

Newport Academy is seeking a Primary Therapist to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and lead therapy sessions with young adults and families. You will collaborate with treatment teams and connect directly with families, delivering compassionate, trauma-informed care within our clinical model.

The role emphasizes family engagement, intake assessments, and participation in supervision, with a focus on evidence-based practices for mental health and related issues.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field, or enrollment in a Doctorate program.
• Board registered in the state (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or Psychologic Associate.
• Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
• Experience with mental health, substance use, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment and safety plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with clients’ treatment teams and connect with families.
• Lead family orientations, welcome presentations, and family support groups.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical supervision.

Education
