Job summary

Citizens Behavioral Health is seeking a Lead Therapist to deliver direct clinical care to adults in our PHP and IOP programs, while mentoring clinicians and guiding treatment planning and documentation. The role combines hands-on therapy with leadership responsibilities to uphold clinical excellence within a growing behavioral health team.

The Lead Therapist conducts individual and group sessions, facilitates evidence-based groups (CBT/DBT/MI), and ensures timely notes and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a behavioral health field or related discipline.
• Active NC licensure or eligibility for supervised licensure.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with adult populations.
• Experience facilitating individual and group therapy; strong assessment skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy for adult clients in PHP/IOP settings.
• Lead engaging, evidence-based therapy groups using CBT/DBT/MI approaches.
• Offer mentorship and clinical guidance to therapists and clinicians.
• Maintain accurate progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and leadership to coordinate care.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations to optimize outcomes.
