The Lead Therapist will oversee clinical operations and provide clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines and best practices. This role involves leadership, mentorship, and collaboration. Approximately 30% of the role is dedicated to leadership, supervision, and clinical oversight, with the remaining 70% focused on providing direct clinical services.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
- Lead and mentor clinical staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development and success.

CLINICAL OVERSIGHT
- Collaborate with leadership to improve clinical processes and elevate patient and clinician care.
- Provide clinical supervision, including individual, group, and triadic supervision, in accordance with applicable licensing board requirements and organizational policies.
- Provide caseload management supervision for all licensed and unlicensed clinicians within the assigned office location.
- Review and approve clinical documentation for associate clinicians to ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Monitor clinician adherence to company policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Assist the Director of Therapeutic Services with clinical initiatives, projects, personnel, and operational needs as assigned.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
- Monitor compliance with therapeutic services policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes, and clinician effectiveness.
- Regularly communicate with clinicians to obtain and provide feedback regarding office operations, clinical concerns, and service delivery.
- Communicate relevant findings, recommendations, and concerns to the Director of Therapeutic Services and administrative leadership.
- Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient care and clinician satisfaction.
PATIENT CARE
- Ensure clinical services are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Provide consultation and guidance to clinicians regarding patient care, treatment planning, and case management.
- Support clinicians in managing complex cases and addressing barriers to treatment engagement.
- Maintain an active therapy caseload and provide direct clinical services.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION
- Lead onboarding activities for newly hired clinicians, including orientation to clinical policies, procedures, and documentation expectations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Therapeutic Services to develop and facilitate professional development and training programs.
- Maintain and expand clinical resource materials, including treatment manuals, handouts, best-practice guides, and educational resources.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to clinicians.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence throughout the office.
PERFORMANCE METRICS
- Monitor clinician performance related to documentation compliance, supervision participation, caseload management, and adherence to organizational standards.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance guidance to clinicians.
- Track and report office-level clinical quality indicators and areas requiring improvement.
- Contribute to initiatives designed to improve clinician retention, engagement, productivity, and overall quality of care.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Director of Therapeutic Services (DoTS) and collaborate with Operations Manager(s) to support clinical operations and interdisciplinary care.
- Provide ongoing clinical leadership, supervision, mentorship, and consultation to clinicians in accordance with organizational policies and applicable licensing requirements.
- Support compliance with clinical documentation, policies, and quality standards.
- Facilitate communication between clinicians and leadership to promote effective operations and continuous quality improvement.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational objectives, clinical operations, and clinician development.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree (MA/MS) with at least 2 years of licensed experience in the past 5 years.
- Completion of clinical supervision training/CEU requirements within 10 days of hire (if not previously completed), with ongoing continuing education required to maintain licensure, clinical competency, and supervision responsibilities.
- Valid and Current License with the CA BBS (LCSW only)
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, General Internet Knowledge (Chrome, Edge, or the like)
