Job summary

Centered Health is seeking a Clinical Director to provide onsite clinical leadership for LAOP in Culver City, CA. The role oversees therapy services, supports licensed therapists, and ensures consistent treatment planning while maintaining an assigned caseload.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will collaborate with program leadership to drive quality, regulatory readiness, and staff development across PHP and IOP services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a behavioral health field.
• Current unrestricted California license such as LMFT or LCSW.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.
• Experience in PHP, IOP, residential, or comparable behavioral health settings.
• Knowledge of documentation standards, confidentiality requirements, crisis response, and payer-driven medical necessity expectations.

Clinical Director

SUMMARY:

The Clinical Director provides onsite clinical leadership for the Intensive Outpatientand Partial Hospitalization Program by overseeing therapy services, supporting licensed therapists, strengthening clinical documentation, and ensuring consistent treatment planning and quality client care. The Clinical Director maintains an assigned caseload while also supporting clinical development, supervision, program coordination, and quality improvement. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Executive Director, Program Director, Medical Director, and other interdisciplinary leaders. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, as well as other duties assigned based on program needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current unrestricted California license, such as LMFT or LCSW; master’s degree or higher in a behavioral health field; demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision; experience in PHP, IOP, residential, or comparable behavioral health settings; working knowledge of documentation standards, confidentiality requirements, crisis response, and payer-driven medical necessity expectations.Must have experience managing subordinate Licensed Clinicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in meetings with the Executive Director and UR Department to evaluate clinical documentation and enhance client care services with a focus on retention, client experience, and standardized process development.
• Provide supervision hours, support clinical triage for therapy services with weekly supervision to assist process of treatment planning based on clinical acuity and client care needs.
• Review/sign-off of individual and group session notes within 24 hours of therapy; ensure sessions notes meet Company standards and support client progression in treatment.
• Facilitate weekly therapist meetings to support case review, implementation of evidence-based practice interventions, and development of peer support opportunities.
• Support monthly regulatory agency survey preparation and data collection.
• Coordinate and deliver therapist training (new hire and ongoing development).
• Establishes resource library for use by team members to support clinical programming.
• In collaboration with department leadership, provide performance and development feedback - through coaching, training, and performance management steps, as needed.
• Address and resolve workplace and client/therapist issues.
• Review and approve therapists’ time-related documentation, payroll, requested time-off; work with Payroll to ensure all records are accurate and complete; uphold Company policy regarding attendance-related issues.
• Build cohesion, trust, integrity, collaboration and commitment across therapist team.
• Support the center’s needs by assuming additional or different responsibilities, either on-going or temporarily, as needed.
• Provides constructive feedback to support the Executive Director in completing the performance management process including regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings, and performance reviews; creates development opportunities and manages results through delegation and empowerment.
• Ability to effectively build program and staff capacity, develop a high-performance workforce and the processes that ensure that programs run smoothly and are aligned with the LAOP mission, goals and strategies.
• Analysis and Research: Ability to effectively gather and analyze data from programming for value-based outcomes reporting (insurance compensation multiplier).

CLINICAL CLIENT CARE AND PROGRAM SUPPORT (assigned case load and direct service expectations determined by program census and leadership needs)

• Facilitate individual client therapy services as clinically appropriate and in alignment with program census, leadership responsibilities, payer requirements, and staffing needs.
• Oversee intake assessment quality, biopsychosocial assessment review, treatment planning alignment, and clinical supervision for assigned therapists.
• Provide group facilitation and individual therapy coverage when necessary
• Intervene and resolve emergent client or client/therapist issues

COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY:

• Ensure clinical services comply with CARF standards and accreditation and HIPPA privacy laws.
• Ensures that documentation complies with payer requirements.
• Supports and conducts chart audits and quality improvement activities.
• Monitors and oversees treatment planning, discharge planning, and risk-management practices.
• Partners with leadership to maintain survey readiness and consistent clinical standards across PHP and IOP programming.
• Ensures that the Clinical team is up to date with all company training requirements.
