Job summary

The candidate will mentor staff, train on new equipment, and collaborate with leadership on policy updates, scheduling, and quality improvements. This federal position is full-time (40 hours/week) in the Radiation Oncology Service.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required as stated in basic requirements.
• Completion of a program in therapeutic radiologic technology, evidenced by a certificate or an associate's or higher degree accredited by JRCERT or ED-recognized bodies, and completion of a 12-month ED-accredited program.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
• English language proficiency sufficient for professional practice.
• GS-11 experience: at least 1 year of experience at the GS-10 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead TRT functions as a team leader for TRTs providing general and complex therapeutic radiologic oncology treatment procedures.
• Provide technical oversight and distribute work assignments; input on performance and competencies.
• Approve leave requests in emergencies; train staff on newly acquired equipment; orient staff, students, residents, and others.
• Assist with staff scheduling, quality assurance, compliance, and updating procedures and policies.
• Serve as technical mentor, trainer, and coach; be accountable to the next higher-level supervisor.
