Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Lead Engineer – Testing to drive development, validation, and troubleshooting of products across locomotive, OHV, and marine sectors. You will perform hands-on testing, instrumentation setup, data acquisition, and analysis while coordinating with engineering teams, manufacturing, quality, and external service providers.

The role requires on-site work, creation of validation plans, field testing at customer sites, and rigorous data analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Minimum of one year of engineering experience.
Experience supporting engineering testing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and technical analysis in lab and field environments.
Working knowledge of locomotive operations and Siemens Simcenter, Test Lab data acquisition software, with experience configuring and operating test systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose instrumentation and system-level issues.
Experience developing validation test plans, conducting field testing, analyzing test data, and communicating results to teams.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent engineering test projects independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
Experience with laboratory calibration programs, validation processes, sensor installation and troubleshooting, and quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Work on-site Monday through Friday to support testing and validation activities.
Develop comprehensive validation test plans in collaboration with engineering teams.
Conduct field testing at Wabtec and customer locations, including instrumentation installation and data acquisition.
Utilize NVH-domain sensors and data acquisition systems for testing.
Troubleshoot instrumentation, test setups, equipment, and systems using engineering fundamentals.
Support time-sensitive testing related to investigations, product validation, manufacturing, and quality issues.
Analyze test data to validate components and assemblies against requirements.
Document and communicate technical results to engineering teams and stakeholders.
Identify improvements in test methods, instrumentation, fixtures, and data processes.
Prepare invention disclosures to protect technologies with competitive advantage.
